Babar azam resigns from captaincy,Rizwan and Muhammad Haris strong candidate for ODIs and T20s
Babar azam resign as captain of Pakistan cricket team.after his resignation the wicketkeeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan has strong candidate for leadership of the ODIs format.
Sources indicate that after Babar Azam stepped down as captain of the T20 and ODI formats, a proposal made to appoint Muhammad Rizwan as the ODI captain and Muhammad Haris considered for the T20 captaincy.
Head coach of white-ball team Gary Kirsten wished for star cricketer to continue as the captain only for ODI format.In his report following the T20 World Cup, he recommended removing the Babar azam from T20 captaincy.
Gary Kirsten is keen to promote young cricketers in T20.Muhammad Haris is being considered as preferred choice for T20 captaincy. On the other hand Muhammad Rizwan is strong name for ODI captaincy.
The final decision regarding Muhammad Haris’s T20 captaincy proposal will be the approval of selectors and board’s chairman.
