Blast near Karachi airport signal,3 Foreigners Killed,17 Injured.
A powerfull explosion near Karachi Airport’s Signal, killed three foreigners and injuring 17 people.Sources say that among the injured are a woman, police officers, and Rangers personnel.
According to SSP Malir that a blast happened near Karachi airport’s signal, causing vehicles to catch fire.
DIG East Azfar Mahesar speaking to media, said that the crime scene is still unclear and it is too early to make any conclusions. He added that initial investigations suggest that an oil tanker caught fire, leading to the explosion and damage. Several vehicles were destroyed due to the intensity of the blast.
Azfar Mahesar more said that the possibility of terrorism or sabotage cannot be ruled out.CTD and intelligence agencies are investigating.
In talk to media Home Minister Sindh Zia Lanjhar said that reports suggest the explosion was caused by an IED. The foreign were in a vehicle that passed just before the explosion, so it was not an oil tanker blast.all sources and CCTV are being used for investigation.
One of the injured Tasleem, said she was passing on a motorcycle with her son and grandson. Police and other law enforcement officers were ahead of them. Suddenly,the explosion happened, and debris hit her.
After the incident, CM sindh Murad Ali Shah called the Home Minister and IG Police, instructing them to keep the routes to and from the airport open. He also ordered to investigate the incident and asked for a full report.
Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori also asked for a report from the IG Police and ordered the authorities to provide best medical care to the injured.
