KARACHI:

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Manzoor Wassan has predicted that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its founder former prime minister Imran Khan have hit a “dead end” and that in the next two-and-a-half months tensions among judiciary, institutions, and politicians would flare up.

He alleged that significant changes would be seen in PTI soon. He warned that better days do not appear to be on the horizon. “The upcoming days don’t look promising for politicians,” Wassan stated.

“Instead of fighting, politicians should focus on the survival of democracy. They should not be under any illusions; the situation is not favourable for them. It’s possible that the National Assembly could be dissolved, and a caretaker government might take over.”

Wassan expressed concern about a potential major upheaval, stating, “It feels like the country might undergo a significant cleanup again,” the PPP leader stated.

“The PTI and its founder are stuck in a dead end.”

He advised PTI members to wisely navigate out of their current predicament, suggesting that they should not reach a point where there’s no way back.

“Imran Khan needs to act sensibly. He must lower his stance and make thoughtful decisions. There may come a time when no one is willing to become the prime minister of this country,” Wassan warned.
