Several Judges Skip CJ Isa’s Goodbye Dinner
Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa will retired today. At the dinner reception held in honor of outgoing Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa on Thursday night, five Supreme Court judges, including Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, were not seen at the dinner.
The Supreme Court Bar Association and the Pakistan Bar Council hosted the dinner on the eve of CJ Isa’s retirement on October 25.
A day before, Justice Mansoor Shah left for Umrah with family.
Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Ayesha Malik, and Justice Shahid Waheed also did not appear the reception.
However nominated Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Khan Afridi, Justice Musarrat Hilali, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, Justice Jamal Mandokhail, Justice Aminuddin Khan, Justice Aqeel Abbasi, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Irfan Saadat Khan and Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan were present at the dinner, hosted in farewell of Qazi Faiz Isa.
The Judges from Islamabad High court, Lahore Highcourt participated in the reception.
A lunch in honor of CJ Isa will also be hosted on Friday at the Supreme Court. According to sources, the lunch is being organized by Justice Afridi along with other judges.
Justice Yaha Afridi will personally pay the cost of the lunch, as CJ Isa had declined the arrangement of any meal at government expense.
