After the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted nationwide monsoon rains and urban flooding from August 1, the port city has also received significant rainfall since yesterday.

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released rainfall statistics for the past 24 hours in the city, with the highest rainfall recorded in Gulshan-e-Maymar at 11.5 mm. Faisal Base followed closely with 11 mm, North Karachi saw 10 mm, and Korangi experienced 8.8 mm of rain.

Other areas recorded lower amounts with Old Airport receiving 6 mm, Jinnah Terminal had 5.8 mm, and both Met Complex and DHA Phase Two saw 5 mm of rainfall.

Keamari recorded 4.5 mm, Surjani saw 2.5 mm, and PAF Masroor Base experienced 1.5 mm of rainfall.

The least amount of rain was recorded in Nazimabad with just 1 mm.

In Sindh, from August 2 to August 6, heavy rain with thunderstorms is anticipated in Mithi, Umarkot, Thatta, and Badin, while Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to face heavy rains from 3rd to 6th August.

Rain with thunderstorms is expected in Karachi from August 5 to August 7 and according to the Met Office, this new spell of rain could prove more powerful than the previous system.
