Zac Efron is recovering after experiencing a health scare during his vacation in Spain.

On Friday, August 2, the 36-year-old Family Affair star was at a villa in Ibiza when he experienced a “minor swimming incident” in the pool, a representative for the star confirmed to PEOPLE.

Efron was taken to the hospital as a precaution and was released the following morning. “He is fine,” said the representative.

Earlier this week, the High School Musical alum was seen joining DJ Martin Garrix onstage during his performance at the Ushuaïa Ibiza Hotel and Beach Club in the Spanish city.

The actor has had a packed year, starring in The Iron Claw, Ricky Stanicky, and most recently, the rom-com A Family Affair alongside Nicole Kidman and Joey King.
